A Covid passport to get into a pub is a “denial of human rights.” Really? Here’s what a denial of human rights looks like.

Summarily executed on the street in Afghanistan. That’s a denial of human rights.
A man flogged in public in Indonesia – because he’s gay. That’s a denial of human rights.
A child starving to death in Yemen because of a war funded by wealthy countries. That’s a denial of human rights.
Chinese Muslims in concentration camps. That’s a denial of human rights.
Thousands facing ethnic cleansing in Tigray province. That’s a denial of human rights.

So can those knuckle draggers who actually think that being asked to prove they are vaccinated and therefore unlikely to infect others, please stop claiming that their “human rights” are being infringed?

I have always been pacifist. Lord I remember marching against the Vietnam War, the Iraq invasion, Bloody Sunday, the Teebane massacre and what not.

But my pacifism is being sorely tested by these eejits complaining about their “human rights” being infringed by Covid passports.

I am sorely tempted by give one of them a box in the snot, as we used to say.

But I won’t.

I’ll just shake my head in frustration and astonishment that we have people so utterly lacking in common sense and devoid of any kind of humanity, that they regard showing a Covid passport to a publican as a breach of their human rights.

Thank God 90 per cent of us have more sense, more decency, more humanity and more charity.
