It gets more and more depressing.
I mean, it’s bad enough that pubs and restaurants are closed. It’s hard to deal with the shops being closed so close to Christmas.
We can’t go to gigs, theatre, cinema – we can’t even go to galleries.
And some of the parks are packed. Very unpleasant indeed.
So what do we do?
We go home and turn on the radio
And what do we get?
Covid. Covid. Covid. Covid. Covid. Covid. Covid.
It’s relentless.
So.
I have a plan.
I want RTE Radio 1 to revise their daily schedule.
Just a little bit.
So it would look like this:
5.00 am to 9.00 am: Rising Time with Shay Byrne
9.00am to 1.00pm Music with Ronan Collins
1.00pm to 5.00 pm Arena with Seán Rocks bringing us all the stories about the arts
5.00pm to 9.00 pm Music with John Creedon
9.00pm to 1.00 am Late Date with Cathal Murray
1.00am to 5.00am That’s the ideal spot for Morning Ireland, Today, News, Drivetime and Late Debate
I would revise my schedule a little bit and allow Ryan Tubridy and Ray D’Arcy to present their programmes IF, and its a big if, they promised not to mention Covid. At all. Ever. Not once.
Do you know what?
I’m smiling at the thought of it already.
